Here are Heather’s words about this image:

It has only been this year that I have come to know anything about Lupus other than repeated references in the TV show House.  Learning about how devastating it is, hearing how much it has robbed from vibrant, amazing people has really affected me.

This picture represents my impressions of what it must be like living with Lupus – murky, shadowy and mysterious around the edges, and yet somehow in the center there is a brightness or a hope you hold on to that keeps you going.  This is only my impression from the outside, because I don’t think I can ever imagine what it is really like to have Lupus.
