1000 Paper Butterflies

RENDER_FARAFALLA2_copyThis idea was suggested by a lady named JoAnn when she read my crazy idea for World Lupus Day on my personal blog. I will use her words to describe this project:

What about collecting butterflies made by people, trying to get 1000 of them in an act similar to the 1000 paper cranes idea for origami. I looked up origami butterflies and got this page- http://www.google.com/images?rlz=1T4ADFA_enUS363US363&q=origami…. They say that if you fold 1000 origami cranes you will get your wish- maybe 1000 origami (and other media) butterflies will get more people aware of Lupus and the search for a cure for it.

This is an easy project to do. And if enough people participate in this one, we could have more than 1000 of them. I invite you take pictures and video of your progress. I invite you to be innovative and find unique ways to display your paper butterflies. If you take video but lack the skills to edit it, I am more that willing to edit it and create videos for part of the final project.

Once you are finished your paper butterflies, please email me any associated media to lupus@lupusartgallery.com. Please try to have all finished projects into me by Midnight PDT on May 8 for the World Lupus Day update on May 10, and Midnight PDT on October 28 for Lupus Awareness Month updates.

  1. Just finished with my first butterfly! I’ve put the pics on TwitPic at the moment, but will email them to you properly when I get more made, if I can get some better paper for it. *hugs* I know you said you were going through a flare up recently/at the moment so good luck and feel better!
