This is a cool piece. The butterflies have a tension between freedom and confinement. The lines on the frame could be spider’s webs, trapping the butterflies. But there is the purple butterfly, in the upper right corner, that is breaking free of the frame! I can honestly say that it’s the most I’ve ever thought about the meanings of a crochet.
